Proceedings of the Second International Geodetic Symposium on Satellite Doppler Positioning,
The second international geodetic symposium on satellite doppler positioning was sponsored by the defense mapping agency and the national ocean survey of the national oceanic and atmospheric administration, and hosted by the applied research laboratories of the university of texas at austin, from 22 january to 26 january 1979. The symposium was the second of its kind, continuing and extending the lines of communication established in Las Cruces, New Mexico, in October 1976, at the first symposium. The goal of the program committee was to organize a symposium where all current scientific work in the field of Doppler satellite positioning would be addressed, both by developed and developing countries. Judgingnfrom the varied applications presented by the many nations represented, this goal was attained. The proceedings are a compilation of the technical papers presented at the symposium and summaries of the discussion periods. The proceedings have not been edited except for conformity to format and a few minor changes to the summaries for clarification of regional variations in english. I Would like to express my appreciation to the program comittee, the session chairmen, and to all those people at the applied research laboratories who worked so hard to make the symposium a success.
