ELECTRONICS IN INDUSTRY FOURTH EDITION
The purpose of this book is to give a broad introduction to the use of industrial electronic circuits and eguipment. It is intended for use as a text in electronic technology and survey courses offered by technical institutes, junior and community colleges, and universities, and for engineering training programs in industry.
This edition follows the trend toward the use of more solid-state units and fewer electron tubes. Solid-state devices and circuits dominate nine chapters and are included in seven more. Most of the solid-state discussion precedes that of electron-tube eguipment (which has been condensed).
The new chapters 6, 8, 9, 17, and 18 cover transistor amplifiers: the sensing of time, voltage, and light: FET's and thyristors, including SCR's and triacs: solid-state switching and integrated circuits. Where later chapters discuss eguipment of earlier editions, it is with the substitution
of solid-state circuitry. Certain transistor circuits are emphasized when well suited for use in integrated circuits, whose operation also is explained. About 85 new diagrams are included
