ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENTS SECOND EDITION
Talectronic Measurements” pucecedk “ Mcasurements in Radio Engineering” (19388) ama college text, and asa reference book for the practicing engineer. “The change in bible is Indicutive of the incrcased scope of the new book, which now covers mensurement fundamentals in numerous felds beyond conventional radio, including television, radar and other pulsed systems, microwaves, and a diversity of technigues of value to engineers in other areas who may use clectronics in their Instrumentation.
The revisions in this edibion are extensive. Many sectiong in the present volume are devoted to technical subjects that were nonexistent at the time of the carlier book, or were perhaps then only scientific curiosities. Such topics include: waveguides and cavity resonators, standing-wave measurcements: noisc in amplifiers and receivers: freguencymodulation and television reccivers: generation of special waveforms (pulses, sguare waves, sawtooth waves): generation of time delays, modern forms of vacuum-tube voltmeters: power measurement at microwave freguencics: antenna measurcments into the microwave region, including directivity pattern, gain, and phase-front measurements: oscillators for laboratory signal sources covering the range from very low to microwave freguencies: transient and steady-state response of amplifiers and circuits: new oscilluscope technigues, stability of feedback amplifiers: etc. The length of the book is approximately twice that of the earlier volume. Many new illustrations have been added: the original volume had 198 figures, while the new one has449. Most of the old illustrations have been supplantcd by new drawings, all of them have been prepared to conform with present graphical standards.
As in the earlier volume which it supersedes, “ Electronic Measurements” has as its aim the providing of a comprehensive engineering discussion of the measuring problems commonly encountered by radio or electronic engineers. “The method of brentiment and tho degree of difficulty are much the same ag in Termurah Y Radio Engineering” (3d ed). The two works are in 4 sense compunion volumes, in that one deals with the general principles of radio while bhe other is devoted to measuring methods and measuring appuralus,
“Blectronic Measurements? is intended to be of use as both a reference andatextbook. For the practicing engineer it guthers together information on measuring technigues and measuring eguipment, and thereby
