Atmospheric Science
Atmospheric science has developed into a major field of study with far-reaching scientific and societal implications. Though driven primarily by the need for more accurate weather forecasts, advances in the field have played a critical role in worldwide efforts ranging from the mitigation of air pollution to the design of buildings and aircraft that can safely withstand fluctuating conditions. Atmospheric science second edition, has been completely revamped in terms of content and appearance. It contains new chapters on atmospheric chemistry, the earth system, climate and the atmospheric boundary layer, as well as enhanced treatment of atmospheric dynamics, radiative transfer, severe storms, and global warming. The authors illustrate concepts with state-of-the-art imagery and cover a vast amount of new information in the field.
