Theory and Problems Of Microprocessor Fundamentals 2/ed
"The electromes student or specialist of tomorrow must have a knowledge of microprocessors and microprocessor-based systems. This wall include knowledge not only of microcomputer hardware but of software as well Microprocessors are the bass for an exciting new breed of intelligent devices Microprocessors are found in diverse products from children's toys to automobiles, from mu crocomputers to home appliances, from industrial robots and machinery to home entertainment equipment Because of programmable devices called micro processors, the development of intelligent machines is expected to accelerate in the future
The second edition of Schaum's Outline of Microprocessor Fundamentals provides the reader with the basic topics customarily covered in a first course in microprocessors. The Schaum's Outline philosophy of concentrating on typical problems encountered while studying any subject is supported in this outline by the use of over 1100 solved and supplementary problems dealing with micro processors and microcomputers Complete solutions accompany most of the problems in this book
The second edition of Schaum's Outline of Microprocessor Fundamentals contains most of the same topics which made the first edition a great success Several additions were made in the second edition which reflect new training practices, technological changes, and suggestions from students and instructors Two chapters covering the 8-bit 6502/65C102 microprocessor were added giving hardware and programming details. By popular demand, a chapter surveying selected 16 and 32-bit microprocessors was also added Included are the Intel 8086, 8088, 80186, 80188, 80286, and 80386 16 and 32-bit processors. Also included are the Motorola 68000, 68008, 68010, 68012, 68020, and 68030 micro processors Finally, the Western Design Center 65802 and 65816 16-bit micro processors are surveyed.
The topics outlined in this book were carefully selected to coincide with courses taught at the upper high school, vocational-technical, community college, and beginning college level. Many of the most widely used vocational-technical level textbooks and lab manuals on microprocessors and microcomputers were analyzed. The topics and problems included in this Schaum's Outline are similar to those encountered most frequently in these standard books. Program seg ments listed in this Outline were carefully checked for accuracy on typical inexpensive microcomputer trainers. Some of these trainers are available from Intel Corporation, Heath/Zenith, and Lab-Volt Systems"
