The book of Meteorology of the Indonesian Maritime Continent was written based on the experiences of the author In delivering lectures at the Bachelor Program of Meteorology and Graduate (Masters and Doctoral) Program of Earth Sciences. subdivision of Atmospheric Science in the Faculty of Earth Science and Mineral Technology. Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). The text of Meteorology of the Indonesian Maritime Continent is also supported by the research experiences in Meteorology and Atmospheric Science funded by ITB, Meteorological and Geophysical Agency (BMG), the Ministry of National Education (Depdiknas), Integrated Excellence Research (RUT), World Bank, etc. Basically this book can be generally used. but it is more specific as a reference book for operational research and developments of Meteorology at BMG. This book can also be utilized as a text book at faculties of Earth sciences, oceanography, geography, environment, agriculture, forestry, geohydrology, hydrology. meteorology. atmospheric science, etc. This book consists of two volumes, i.e. Volume I : Characteristics and Circulation of the Atmosphere and Volume || : Monsoonal Clouds and Rain. The book of Meteorology of the Indonesian Maritime Continent, Volume ! discusses the position of Indonesia geographically and meteorologically; application and division of meteorology; composition and structure of the atmosphere; physical characteristics of the Indonesian atmosphere; the process of heat transmission and atmospheric heating; insolation and the theory of blackbody radiation; atmospheric fluid motion; circulations of global and local atmosphere; and the tropical cyclones around the Indonesian waters.
